Happy Birthday Mazie

Mazie turned 7! We asked her what she wanted to do for her birthday, she said "go to dinner at Golden Coral" so we all went. Mazie is such a fun, happy, silly little girl (most of the time) we can't believe she's starting 2nd grade this year!

Mazie has been trying to get her ears pierced for 2 years now. I thought it would be a fun thing to do before she started kindergarten, however she thought different, every time we go she changes her mind, or says next year. After the first attempt she was mad at me for weeks, and had no problem letting everyone know it was because I had taken her to get her ears pierced. Well we were at the mall last week and she had told her aunt she was going to get them done for her birthday, so Jodi and I asked her if she wanted to while the Dad's were playing games in the arcade with the other kids, then it would be a surprise. she got a huge smile on her face and decided this would be the day, so uncle mike covered for us and told Rick we went to the bathroom. After we got there she sat on my lap, Jodi held her hands, and then she changed her mind, we tried everything to make her think of something different, we told her she could pick out 1 then 2 things from the store. People started to gather around to watch, it was quite the scene, but she did it and she didn't even cry. I think I got a little emotional, (you know one of those mom things), I was so proud of her, It may not be a huge thing but she was so nervous, and had wanted to do it for the pat 2 years. When we went back Rick noticed right away, picked her up, gave her a huge hug, and told her how proud he was! She never would have made it without Jodi, thanks for your help!

Happy 4th of July

We had a great 4th this year, lots of food, family and fireworks! When we were little the Chinese house was our favorite firework, not because it did anything fancy, it was just do darn cool how at the end it would spin around and then pop up, we loved it. A few years ago we were looking for some and a friend of ours who's aunt sells fireworks in Wyoming said they didn't make them anymore, but when Tysen and Chris were in Vegas a while ago they hit a firework store and guess what they found!
We ended up going to the parade, after I got home from the 5k the kids were still in bed but it was a cloudy, perfect day for a parade, so I got them all up (including Rick)

We had a great time at the stadium of fire! other then the fact that the sound system is not that great, for the most part we couldn't understand what she was singing, unless you knew the song, and most of her songs were from her new album set to be released the end of the month. Before the big fireworks even started Ellie and Mazie were ready to go!

They were saleep before we even left the parking lot!

Happy Birthday Ellie!

Ellie turned 5 May 12th. Within the first two days after her birthday she got her bike taken away about 3 times for riding to far away from Grandma's house, at that point I wondered if a bike was the best choice for her?

Tysen got her the cutest little apron, it matched the one we got for my mom for mothers day, we love to wear aprons at our house, check them out at www.flirtyaprons.com

Ellie is such a spunky, boy crazy little frit! but we love her to death! She keeps us on our toes and all I have to say is I hope her kindergarten teacher next year is ready for her! Hope you had a great Birthday Ellie!

DANCE!

The girls had a dance recital during the move, 3 days, and 6 performances later we had all the hairspray, glitter, makeup, hot rollers, curling irons and Bobby pins we could take! The girls did great! I was a little worried they might get nervous and decide not to perform. but they danced every show, Ellie surfed like a pro, and Mazie can do a mean car wash! It was so cute to watch them!

The big move!

I know it's been a month since we moved in and I should have been caught up with my blog by now. Sorry, I have no excuses. Here are a a few pictures of the new house, I'm not a great photographer, so I don't think the pictures do it justice. But we love the house and the neighborhood, and we are so excited to finally be all moved in!
